            - Standard Teaching Credential with Minor – Speech and Hearing Handicapped

            - Standard Restricted Special Education – Speech and Hearing Therapy

            - Standard Limited Specialized Preparation – Speech and Hearing Handicapped

           -  Clinical or Rehabilitative Services – Language, Speech and Hearing

OR

Meet EC Section 44831 by verifying:

  1. master’s degree in communicative disorder,*
  2. valid license issued by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board,
  3. passage of the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST), and
  4. the criminal record summary pursuant to Ed. Code Section 44332.6.

           

SALARY:

 

Placement on the SLP’s salary schedule determines salary, based on degree/units/experience.  $83,110 -$155,822 (based on the 2023-2024 SLP’s salary schedule).

TEMPORARY

#C-03 - DUAL ENROLLMENT/CCAP COUNSELOR

(Funded by the College and Career Access Pathways [CCAP] Grant.)

 

DEFINITION:

The District Dual Enrollment/CCAP Counselor on Assignment position under the direction of the Director of College Readiness and Access will assist in leading the development and implementation of sustainable systems and structures to support the effectiveness of Dual Enrollment through the District’s formal CCAP partnership with Chaffey College. This partnership is designed to increase equitable student access to dual enrollment courses and student progress towards college and career pathway completion to provide students the opportunity to experience dual enrollment.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must possess and keep current a valid California single subject teaching credential and a valid California pupil personnel services credential or present written verification from an accredited institution that they qualify for a pupil personnel services credential and that an application is being processed.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • College and Career Access Pathways and Non-CCAP Dual Enrollment Programs.
  • Understand the application and enrollment process for high school students to take dual enrollment courses.
  • Familiarity with course and credit equivalencies between college and high school levels.
  • Experience developing high school students four-year plans that include dual enrollment courses towards completion of career certifications or college degrees.
  • Knowledgeable of the policies, guidelines, and procedures regarding dual enrollment courses on students high school transcript.    
 
 

ABILITY TO:

  • Assess and assist the whole student, including cultural differences and/or disabling conditions.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Provide accurate academic/vocational information.
  • Implement innovative and flexible counseling methods to increase dual enrollment access and success rates among non-traditional students.
  • Function as a student advocate facilitating the resolution of college related problems.
  • Work independently and in small groups on educational projects.
  • Build positive working relationships and trust between Chaffey College and CJUHSD staff.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  1. Conduct parent and student outreach. E
  2. Provide site support for enrollment process. E
  3. Develop related forms and documents. E
  4. Assist with communication between District and Chaffey College. E
  5. Collect, maintain, analyze, and report data. E
  6. Collaborate with the Chaffey College Dual Enrollment Department to provide site support for the CCAP. E
  7. Maintain and update dual enrollment course equivalency list for District and sites. E
  8. Assist with CCAP teacher collaboration and professional development. E
  9. Provide dual enrollment and pathway guidance to District counselors. E
  10. Establish sequence towards completion of CTE certification or college degree pathways. E
  11. Implement strategies to increase targeted student groups academic achievement through dual enrollment pathways. E
  12. Assist students to participate in creating a positive learning environment and positive school climate. E
  13. Maintain an active communication system with students, staff, parents and the community to maintain the highest counseling and guidance outcomes for dual enrollment. E
  14. Lead informative presentations to staff and educational partners about dual enrollment and career pathways. E
  15. Connect students to the appropriate Chaffey College resources for assistance with the Chaffey College registration process, Disability Programs and Services (DPS) process, course selections, and academic support for the dual enrollment courses. E
  16. Assist students in exploring career options. E
  17. Participate in professional development. E
  18. Maintain credentials in both pupil personnel services and teaching. E
  19. Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

SALARY:

According to the current salary schedule.

 

WORK YEAR:

This is a temporary two-year assignment for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years that will follow a counselor’s regular work year calendar.

#C05- INSTRUCTIONAL COACH - Science

District Office

START DATE:

This position will begin for the 2024-2025 school year.

 

BASIC FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Director of Instruction, the Instructional Coach serves as a multifaceted support for teachers. This role includes leading initiatives in Next Generation Science Standards, managing data analytics, developing curriculum, and providing mentorship. The coach also facilitates learning and specializes in implementing research-driven strategies, which encompass strategic integration of technology, social-emotional learning, trauma-informed practices, and culturally-responsive curriculum. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

The Instructional Coach will need to travel within the Chaffey District and surrounding County boundaries and attend conferences and workshops as needed.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

  1. Provide model lessons for classroom teachers which promote next generation science standards and academic language development in all content areas using evidence-based instructional strategies, including how to integrate technology, social-emotional learning strategies, universal design for learning, trauma-informed practices, and culturally-responsive curriculum strategically in support of these strategies;
  2. Support classroom teachers and achievement teams in collecting, analyzing, and using student achievement data to shift instruction, including how to analyze and integrate data provided through state-mandated assessments;
  3. Schedule release time for classroom teachers and accompany them in conducting peer classroom visits;
  4. Identify site and District professional learning needs;
  5. Collaboratively and independently plan, schedule, and conduct professional learning opportunities aligned with District and site goals for achievement and equity, specifically in the following areas:
    1. literacy and academic language development in all content areas;
    2. use of instructional technology to enhance learning for students;
    3. understanding of the CAASPP and CAST and how it informs instruction;
    4. UDL
    5. culturally-responsive and sustaining pedagogy;
    6. social-emotional learning strategies;
    7. promoting equitable access, opportunities, and outcomes for all students, with an emphasis on addressing achievement and opportunity disparities between student groups;
  1. Utilize teacher-provided data to gauge the quality, satisfaction, usefulness, and impact of the professional learning opportunities provided to teachers and continually make improvements to meet the school and District-wide vision for improving teaching and learning;
     7. Attend grade-level, department, and District department chair meetings, as well as District-level meetings                   pertaining to science;
     8. Support grade level and department teams in developing short and long-term goals;
     9. Provide site and District administrative teams with research which addresses evidence-based instructional                 support strategies for literacy and academic language development within science;
   10. Provide coaching and curriculum support in the areas of instructional material and implementation.
   11. Regularly evaluate and reflect on their own professional practice and dispositions to improve and strengthen             their ability to effectively model and facilitate educators’ learning experiences;
   12. Perform related duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • The Next Generation Science Standards; the California Science Framework; Disciplinary Core Ideas in Physical Science, Life Science, Engineering Design, and Earth and Space Science; EEI standards; Positive Prevention Plus; and the CAST targets.
  • Scientific, evidence-based differentiated instructional strategies to support scientific literacy and academic language development.
  • Principles, methods, techniques, strategies, and trends in effective professional learning programs.
  • Human relations strategies, conflict resolution strategies, and team-building principles and techniques.
  • Program assessment and evaluation techniques, strategies, and procedures.
  • The integration of technology into curriculum for the purpose of enhancing student achievement, specifically in the area of supporting teachers with strategies for the development of students’ conceptual understanding of scientific discourse.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Possess a valid California Clear Teaching Credential in Science with English Learner Authorization and 2 or more years of classroom experience. Preference toward teachers who have experience supporting literacy and academic language development.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Valid California Driver License

Driving record acceptable to the District’s insurance carrier.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoor/outdoor environment; subject to constant interruptions; may be exposed to communicable disease and anti-social behavior; prolonged periods at a computer terminal.

 

WORK WEEK/DUTY HOURS:

Monday through Friday, 7:30-4:00, but schedule may be modified based on District and site needs.


SALARY:

Appropriate step/column to the certificated salary schedule, plus $5,500 annual stipend.
